Chapter History

Nu Mu Lambda, the second oldest alumni chapter in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, was established in June 1980 by thirty-seven (37) brothers who felt that the spirit of Alpha needed to be spread to the suburbs of Atlanta. The chapter is still holding up and spreading the light of Alpha, not only in the Decatur area, but throughout the state of Georgia.

Nu Mu Lambda is a life member of the NAACP, participates in the March of Dimes Walk America, AIDS Walk Atlanta, Martin L. King Jr. Unity Parade and is a committed contributor to the MLK National Memorial Project. The brothers of the chapter have made individual contributions to the MLK project that has totaled over $9,000. Nu Mu has given approximately $32,028 to the building of the MLK Project.
